YOUTH REVOLUTION (Ages 5-9)
Skill Development & Fun Youth Mountain Bike Program
Our Youth Revolution Program is designed for young riders who are beginning their mountain biking journey. Participants should be comfortable on the bike, show interest in basic trail riding, and be eager to learn from traditional teaching/coaching and skill-based games.
Program Highlights
RMCC's Youth Revolution offers a structured development program focusing on fundamental mountain biking skills. This program emphasizes fun, friendship, and learning through games while building essential biking abilities under the guidance of PMBIA Certified Coaches.
Groups may be split based on rider skill level, age, and equipment considerations.
Time and Place
The 5-9 Youth Revolution will take place on Sunday and Thursday evenings from May 1st - June 30th. The sessions will be 1.5 hrs long, meeting at the Canmore Nordic Centre with predetermined meeting instructions sent with pre-camp communications.
Other area’s in Canmore/Banff will be considered as the group ability levels are considered.
Pre-Camp Checklist
Bike Requirements:
Front suspension highly recommended.
Minimum 16” wheels, no coaster brakes (two working hand brakes required).
Proper size for the rider.
Recent bike tune-up and safety check.
Equipment Essentials:
Properly fitted bike helmet (no hockey/climbing helmets).
Bike gloves, athletic shoes, rain jacket, hydration pack/snacks, and personal items.
Skill & Rider Profile (Skill and Fitness Levels)
Your child should be:
Comfortable maneuvering their bike and balancing.
Exploring brake use and gear-shifting techniques.
Eager to try green trails, berms, roots, and rocks while refining their skills.
Fitness & Temperament
Active in various sports.
Excited to ride, explore, and build confidence on the trails.
