Level 1: Ready for Trail
MTB Levels
Skill Level:
I'm a bike boss on flat ground - I can zoom, turn, and cruise with confidence! Now I'm pumped to level up and tackle some awesome forest trails. Time to transform from ashphalt rider to trail explorer!
Fitness Level
I can cruise on my bike for about 60-90 minutes on flat trails (that's like riding around a soccer field or smooth park paths), and can cover about 5-6 kilometers before needing a good break!
Level 2: Comfortable with Single Track
Skill Level
I'm ready to tackle fun single-track trails rated y blue! I can handle trail features like logs and rock gardens and narrow sections. When trails get tricky - I'll hop off and walk the gnarly bits to stay safe.
Fitness Level
I'm in pretty good biking shape - I can cruise the trails for 1.5-3 hours. I usually hit the trails a couple times a week around school and other sports schedules. I can handle long weekend adventures riding 3-4 days back-to-back. On a typical ride, I can cover 8-10km at a steady pace, taking regular snack breaks to keep the energy flowing
Level 3: Exploring Single Track
Fitness Level
I've got solid riding stamina - we're talking 3-4 hour rides at a steady pace. I do some form of cycling four days a week and the trails regularly. My typical ride consists of elevation and 10-15km of pedalling. My multi-sport schedule keeps me fit and active all year round.
Skill Level
I'm navigating difficult blue trails and takling b-line black trails! I have no problem handling sustained climbs or techy descents. When I see a new feature, I'm excited to try checking it after pre-ride, re-ride, free ride.
Level 4: Attacking Single Track
Skill Level
I'm flowing through difficult black trails with confidence! I can handle technical features like table-top jumps, and rock rolls with steep grades. I can link up features by keeping my momentum and choosing creative lines through challenging terrain!
Fitness Level
I live for long days in the saddle! We're talking 4+ hour epic rides where I can maintain a strong pace (that's covering 15+ kilometers with 700+ meters of elevation gain per day. I can tackle nearly a week of back-to-back big rides, managing my energy and recovery. Most of my free time is spent exploring trails, and I've got the fitness to handle those all-day mountain missions.
