DEVO+ XC

Join our DEVO XC Mountain Bike Development program designed for U15, U17 and U19 experienced riders who are looking for a seasonal training and race program.

Program Overview

RMCC’s DEVO XC program aims to develop a passion for cycling in young athletes so they are intrinsically motivated to pursue it as they grow into adults. DEVO XC does this by providing age-appropriate programming, based on Long Term Athlete Development (LTAD) cycling principles in a fun atmosphere that helps young athletes grow and learn valuable skills which extend beyond cycling — hard work, discipline, attention to detail, focusing on distant goals, dealing with adversity and failure, maintaining control under pressure, and working within a team.

Devo+ Road Add-on
One of the best ways to get faster on your XC bike is by incorporating a dedicated road night into your training schedule. Road riding helps build endurance, smooth out your pedal stroke, and improve your ability to sustain high-intensity efforts without the constant interruptions of technical terrain. Long, steady climbs and interval efforts on the road can enhance your aerobic capacity, making it easier to recover between surges in an XC race. Plus, riding with a fast group pushes you to maintain higher speeds and perfect your drafting skills, which translates to better pacing and efficiency on the trails. By mixing in a weekly road ride, you'll develop a stronger engine, sharper race instincts, and the ability to push harder when it counts. Combine Devo+ XC with Devo+ Road to take your cycling to the next level.

Participants interested in this program can reach out to our Program Director Sarah (programdirector@rundlemountaincyclingclub.com) before Feb 26 with any questions or to sign up for Devo+ XC.
